We are Brendan & Georgia.

Amoureux, meaning ‘in love’ was established in 2007.
We are situated on a 22 acre property, in a small country town in East Gippsland.
Like many, we first became aware of the breed through the movie ‘Turner & Hooch; the final scene with the new puppy in the wardrobe was enough to concrete our interest, but it was many years later before we actually got to meet a Dogue in person.
That first Dogue was Jake; a rescue with an unknown past who taught us exactly what sort of breeder we wanted to be; one that aims for excellence.
We breed because we believe we can make a difference. We don’t just produce puppies
for the sake of it, or for r
evenue making. All proposed matings are studied and
planned for; any health testing requirements are performed, we outsource semen and
import if necessary, so to secure improvements in each generation.... all for the
sake of producing puppies that are healthy, well structured in body and type. We
stand by the puppies we produce and support their extended families. We are realistic
to the fact that we are not beyond Mother Nature’s touch, but we do ensure every
reasonable step is taken to protect from her grasp.
We do exhibit our dogs, but chasing Championship titles is not our greatest interest.
Some of our dogs enjoy obedience training and trying their paw at agility; during
2012 we will be introducing some of our older dogs to weight pulling and, perhaps
during the cooler months of the year, even day hiking. Who knows, there may yet
be a sled dog team made up of Dogue de Bordeaux’s!
Breeding dogs is a roller coaster experience; heartbreaking and uplifting; our love and loyalty to our dogs and this breed is worth it all. We are the only Victorian breeder to be a member of The Dogue Club of Australia.
We offer our advice and support to all, so feel free to contact us at any time
At Amoureux, it really is ALWAYS about the dogs!.
